Among the Slavs, the wreath acted as a symbol of eternal love, symbolizing the infinity of the family. There were many birch customs, some of which are still alive today. Birch was the personification of the coming summer; people glorified it with songs and expressing their joy in dances and round dances. These days they were making wreaths out of birch branches. Nowadays it is the feast of the Holy Trinity. According to legend, on the Trinity, birch becomes a sacred tree and gives strength.
