Centuries ago, celebrations honoring the gods were the most important events of the year. Some of them praised and thanked Mother Nature for her gifts to man. From festive magical rituals designed to appease the gods, Brazil's grandiose carnivals arose. Carnival is a ritual that unites people with nature.
The mystical nature of the Amazon, the rich colors of flowers and birds, the cheerfulness and carefree nature of Brazilian women and, of course, the luxurious Rio Carnival inspired the artist to create a series of collages about Brazil.
