Genetic code

The DNA macromolecule stores biological information in the form of a genetic code. Artist Andrey Pichushkin rhymes the biological process and the tradition of knitted things. A thread in the hands of a grandmother or mother turns into a chain of genes and stores warm feelings and emotions that, at the level of perception, are woven into a sweater, scarf, mittens or socks. Each dissolution of an old thing to knit a new one only enriches the little heritage that exists in the thread. The work “genetic code” visualizes the experience of several generations, literally linking the past and the future into a single, endless and regenerating cycle.
