Our hike from the uppermost Karakol Lake started here. At an altitude of 1630 meters, we were greeted by the first of the 7 Karakol lakes, the lowest, the largest and the warmest. How warm a mountain lake can be. And there is a lot of silver in its waters. Smooth and rough, tiny and huge rocks, traces of glaciers cut into the blue water column.
