The church was built in 1824, enlarged and rebuilt in Neo-Romanesque style in 1897.
The temple is built of bud stone, later fragments are made of unplastered brick. During the Second World War during the occupation of Braslav, the abbot of the church Mieczysław Akreitz was shot by the Nazis for helping Jews. In 1950, the temple was closed and given to the granary. However, after two years the faithful achieved the return of the church to the parish.
Central to the altar is the icon of the Mother of God Braslav, revered by the miraculous faithful. The icon is also known by the name “Queen of the Lakes”,
