The painting is based on the famous statue of Nika, the goddess of victory. My idea was to express my vision in a modern way and convey it through painting techniques, texture and volume. The work is done on canvas with a stretcher, the oil painting is gilded, varnished, not framed. I used the method of thin transparent layers of oil paint in combination with gilding using the thinnest sheet plates. The gilded background of the painting changes color under different lighting conditions.
