Ice drift on Sozh

The painting depicts early spring on the Sozh River. This is when the sun starts to warm up and the snow melts. Where more sunlight hits the ground, the first thawed spots appear. When the snow melts, the water in Sozh begins to rise and the ice begins to move. There is still a lot of snow along the shores, but the trees are illuminated by warm light, and in the distance you can see a stretching strip of forest.
