The importance of The Vitruvian Man in art history is enormous, as it symbolizes the fusion of art, science and philosophy that was characteristic of the Renaissance. This drawing illustrates the humanist belief in the perfection and harmony of the human body, and in a more traditional sense, the entire universe. I wanted to create my own color interpretation of a Vitruvian person, because it is so beautiful, in my opinion. And after studying Leonardo Da Vinci's life and work, I wanted to try and experience what he felt.
