By combining temporal and geographical contexts, the work “... not a mammoth” creates a kaleidoscope or set of mirrors that, when changing the angle of interpretation, reveal a number of problems of the “Old World”, from cultural decline to the consequences of neocolonialism.
Propaganda media are diligently camouflaging these problems, creating an illusory reality in the images of a “garden” at home and a “jungle” beyond.
On the contrary, the work “... not a mammoth”, appealing to the experience of surrealism, reveals the hidden side of things and simultaneously presents two relevant European “types” in Paris's scenery.
