The idea and concept of the painting arose during a plein air, where it was possible to visit the excavations of the Monastery Island on Lake Nespish (Braslav District). The work includes 2 circles: the small one symbolizes the island itself with the monastery, and the larger circle symbolizes the lake that surrounds it. There are four routes away from the island, symbolizing both the monastery's affiliation with the Catholic Church and the roads connecting the island to the mainland. The work is made from local materials to fully convey the island's identity.
