Our consciousness clings to various aspects of the painting — color, shape, brushstrokes, materials — and paints familiar images for itself in abstraction. This is how a person sees their picture and story (in a chaotic mix). It's like a mirror of your imagination, what images you have when watching is the first thing. You can change these second images yourself by playing with focus and directing your attention to abstraction. And third, it is the process of perceiving abstraction as a reflection of reality, through your thoughts, states, and feelings. Abstraction is a kind of mirror to our soul.
