The image of the poetess is not historical. It is a metaphor for the creative personality realized in the style of the 1920s. An armchair, a tube, an Egyptian cat are markers of a bohemian lifestyle, detached from earthly concerns. The verse lines in the background add fragility and detachment to the heroine of the work, however immersed in the world of her illusions. The lithograph of Sappho is in the collection of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus.
