My grandmother died a year before I was born, so all I know about her is a small black and white 3x4 cm photo and stories of my mother. My grandmother was born in 1910 and at the age of 9 she became an orphan. According to my mother's stories, this is exactly the following: barefoot, with little belongings, in a dark blue dress, her uncle took her to his care. I tried to visualize what I had heard since I was a child.
