Calotypia is an early photographic process based on the use of paper impregnated with silver iodide. The technology was the first ever negative-positive process to replicate positives from the original negative image on paper. A patent for this photographic process was obtained by its inventor William Henry Fox Talbot on February 8, 1841. Calotypia is also called talbotypia by the name of the inventor of the process.
