Butterflies act as the personification of love. Many are distorted, mutated, which is more conducive to survival in the toxic swamp, but these are not those true feelings. Butterflies, which are not disfigured by themselves, are prey for flower hunters, which symbolize predatory/abuse relationships that burn true feelings or mutate them.
