This quote inspired me to paint a picture with a mermaid. In the central picture, the little mermaid is neither waiting for her prince nor looking at the ship. All her attention is focused on the jewel she is holding in her hands. Pearl is a symbol
of the material world, while pearls in art are a symbol of something spiritual and sublime.
Reading fairy tales about princes and princesses, which almost always ended sadly, in order to reason with the reader, I wanted to
change the plot
