The Queen

The central image of the painting is occupied by the mermaid queen. Like Madonna and Child, she is lulling a shark to sleep and sadly wet her head with her head bowed. The planet's most formidable predator is in danger of extinction due to trapping and trimming its fins. What nature has not been able to do in millions of years, man can do in a matter of years.
