Shimboku in Japan are the so-called “divine trees” of the shrine.
I was inspired to write this series of paintings by studying the Japanese language, culture and traditions. One of my dreams is to visit the land of the rising sun one day and see firsthand the beauty of the landscapes. In the meantime, I can recreate my own images that are close to me and convey my sensual thought forms about Japan with paints on canvas.
