A three-hour walk northwest of the base camp (2600m) of northern Elbrus (5642m) lies the incredibly beautiful Shaukam River Valley. This is a view of Elbrus and Mount Sirch in summer at sunset, from Shaukam's north shoulder, a pass to the valley that is behind you in the picture. Get in there, comrade, get in!
