Native Belarusian and Native Americans. What do I and the Maya tribes have in common?
Weakness to beautiful creatures — iguanas.
May believed that the world was inside a giant house — “Itzam-na” — and 4 iguanas whom the Indian called “itsam” were its walls. Each iguana was a symbol of the side of the world and had its own color. And some tribes were very appreciative (and somewhere still continue) meat.
But I love this character not for that, but for all the things that glitter: brilliant charisma, an eye looking right into the soul, skin casting silver and sparkling brillant navels.
Iguane, my picture
I used a brush and a mastichine, so those navels on the iguana skin look very material.
The painting “Itzam” is an original work by Olga Milashevich. Painted in oil on plywood. It has a rectangular shape, 40*46 cm in size. Decorated in a wooden frame. The painting can be hung on a wall, put on a shelf, chest of drawers, fireplace.
The obverse of the painting features the author's signature.
